    Just a small correction to the upgrade instructions in the forum: you say “There’s an easy fix, though: go under Tools > SlimStat > Maintenance”; that path should actually be “Settings > SlimStat > Maintenance”.

    @John Faulds: thank you John, indeed you are correct. Those instructions had been written for the first alpha version, but then I changed my mind, moving the Options page under settings, but forgot to update them :)

    Hi Richard, please empty your cache and force the reload of the stylesheets. Some CSS definitions have changed in 2.0.2 to accomodate right-to-left text orientation. Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you still experience problems after flushing your cache. Thank you.

    Hi. Thank you for this marvelous plugin. Unfortunately for me it’s very annoying that the plugin uses ActiveX. Because of this the plugin detection mechanism works only in IE on Windows, and what is more for users which uses IE instead of Firefox or Opera gets a warning about site trying to launch an ActiveX object. It would be great if you would replace it wit some other, OS-independent, cross-browser detection mechanism. If this would not be possible, there should be an option in the settings to disable activex.
    Anouther ting are the country letters. The values “c-us, c-pl, c-es” are shown but I think that “us, pl, es” would be more nice and “United States, Poland, Spain” even better.

    @Krzychu: I’m not sure I understand your problem, krzychu. My plugin doesn’t use ActiveX but it does use a Flash chart generator, so my guess is that you were using Internet Explorer 6 or IE with ActiveX/Flash disabled. Please check this website to see if the solution described there solves the problem. Otherwise please post a new message on our support forum, and we’ll try to troubleshoot your problem!

    Lines with:
    <?php if ($array_panels[$current_panel][1]) { …
    Should be:
    <?php if ($array_panels[$current_panel - 1][1]) {

    Hi @camu. Thank you for your quick answer. In file wp-slimstat.js we have function slimstat_detectObject(…) with line “var obj = new ActiveXObject(progIds[i]);”. There are also other lines with code “return new ActiveXObject(…)”. One of the users with IE8 said that he gets alerts that the site is trying to launch potentially dangerous content. I checked this and he was right. It looks a little nasty. Of course it doesn’t happen in other browsers because they simply ignore this code.

    @Krzychu: thanks for clarifying! Yes, that Javascript is used to detect the user’s plugins in Internet Explorer. But since it’s causing problems, I’ll definitely change that. The next version should fix this, please send me an email if you want to test it BEFORE I officially release it ;)

    Wonderful Plugin – thank you for sharing!

    With the new version there is a bug under “Visitors > IP addresses and domains”, at least in my installation:

    Warning: gethostbyaddr() [function.gethostbyaddr]: Address is not a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in /is/htdocs/wp1078735_SOG6R6EJ2P/www/wp/wp-content/plugins/wp-slimstat/view/panel2.php on line 122

    @Harald: yes, there was a typo in the source code. Please see this topic in the support forum. If you register you can also download the updated file and upload it to your server to fix the problem.

    Hello, the update that I downlaoded today from wordpress broke my blog. Had to remove the slimstats folder in order to make it work again. don’t have an error messgae though to help you with it.

    @Pero: are you using PHP 4? Please use our support forum to discuss this issue you’re having.
    @Michael: that’s very strange, what do you mean for “broke my blog”? Pages were blank? Have you tried to increase the memory limit for PHP?

    Thanks for the fast reply. I was in panic and needed a quick fix, so I just removed the slimstat folder. The pages were blank, yes. I am running 2.0.5 without a problem now.

    @Michael: Yes, I found the bug, you need to temporarily disable the plugin “WP SlimStat Dashboard Widgets”, I’ll release a fix for this later today.

    A fix has been released, but I haven’t changed the version of the plugin, since most users are not affected by this problem and I don’t want to bother them and force those people to upgrade again. Please send me a private message if you need to know how to reinstall WP SlimStat without losing your data. Thank you for letting me know about the bug!

    Ciao Camu, è possibile far visualizzare le statistiche anche a chi non è amministratore,magari scegliendo il ruolo e facendo apparire il pulsante relativo alle statistiche non sotto la dashboard ma altrove?

    @Nicola: si, è possibile (non ho testato, ammetto, se con la 3.0 funziona). Nel pannello di amministrazione delle opzioni di WP SlimStat c’è una linguetta per i permessi. Non è però possibile far apparire il link alle statistiche in un sottomenù diverso… però l’idea è interessante, vediamo se posso implementarla :)

    salve! stavo cercando un semplice plugin per mostrare a piè pagina le visite uniche.. e ho scoperto questo fantastico componente (plugin mi sembra riduttivo..)! mi chiedevo se ci fosse un modo per estrapolarne le visite uniche (umane preferibilmente) e schiaffarle un po’ dove mi pare. complimenti ancora.. quasi quasi faccio qualcosa di simile per PHP-Fusion.. ma proprio forse :)

    while making the automatic update from 2.0.5 to 2.0.6
    i get this error:

    Incompatible Archive. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    Any ideas? :P
